Logo for mobile software development

I would like some ideas.

When you think about mobile software development, what comes to your mind? What would a company/group that do that have as their logo?

I have the name for the logo/site already created, but I am looking for something to go with that name.

I guess light bulb can be associated to almost anything creative, but I am looking for something a bit different.

Could someone help me?

One caveat of logo creation: If either the logo creator or the logo viewer have to think too much, it's not a good design (in general, of course).

Of course, it would help if you posted a little more info on your target audience, and what kind of software you plan to make. The logo you want will need to convey an idea, and we have no idea what kind of idea you have going on. :)

entertainment for now, games and what not. But it will not be only entertainment later on

A popular image in gaming is that of Ye Olde Joystick... like back from the Atari 2600 days. You know - a box with a stick coming out of it... the stick usually being capped with a ball.

An interesting thought might be to make a light bulb be the stick. There are a number of logos one could make with that idea.

Apart from that, other entertainment icons could be used. Suit icons from a deck of playing cards or cube dice can make some really interesting designs. You could also try incorporating any of the above ideas into your company name (substituting a spade for a letter 'A', for example).

These are just off the top of my head. Go draft some rough sketches, and you may be surprised what you can come up with. :)

thats good ideas about joystick, but maybe I could add this at the bottom, like having a joystick icon, dollar, tv (for entertainment, business, daily life.. etc)

A logo with different objects on it? Not too sure about that, myself.

I just had an idea - why not a small cell phone with an exclamation point in the screen with a "lightning bolt" shape? (Though I wouldn't be surprised if someone has that already...)
