I have tried installing the xscreensaver utility. However, whenever I click on a screensaver and try to preview it, it locks the computer up tighter than a drum. In fact, I have to hold down the on/off button, all keys are unresponsive on the computer. I have tried uninstalling the xscreensaver completely and all supporting files for the various screensavers, then reinstalling them, to no avail. Any ideas what might be causing this?
I have un-installed Gnome screensaver also. I thought there might be a conflict.
