Hi,
Windows XP Home with Ubuntu 8 working with no problems at all...except that I want to update to 10 and have no idea how to go about it. Can anyone offer me any advice?
Thanks in advance

Updating from 8.04 or 8.10 to 10.04 probably wouldn't work too well. I would backup your home and do a clean reinstall

So should I clean install XP and then install 10.04 as dual boot. Is there no way of uninstalling 8 and then installing 10?

If your xp is working good, why would you reinstall it? You could install 10.04 over the partition that you currently have 8 on. I just thought you would have files that you want to save

It is possible to upgrade an LTS release,
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/UpgradeNotes#From%209.10%20or%208.04%20LTS%20to%20 10.04%20LTS
but whether it is advisable or not is another matter.
Quite a few people have experienced problems with upgrading.
If you do consider a fresh install, make sure you backup anything important first.

Thanks folks,
ronnielsen1 sorry, I got confused from your previous post. I'll give installing 10.04 over 8 a whirl.
Is there any tutorials out there that could help me? I can't remember where I got the one I originally used for installing 8 from.
