Hello Everyone-
I have been having trouble installing packages. Every package I try to install gives me the same error -
E: Could not perform immediate configuration on 'libattr1'.Please see man 5 apt.conf under APT::Immediate-Configure for details. (2)I have tried Synaptic, the Update Manager, apt-get, and aptitude. I noticed that someone has filed a bug report on launchpad (link (https://bugs.launchpad.net/update-manager/+bug/575400)), for seemingly the same reason, and so far there hasn't been any changes made. Does anyone have any idea about how to resolve this? Any help is appreciated.

Hi, different type of package problem but I wonder if any of the options on this thread http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1438703 might help? Particularly #9. Just an idea ?!

Thanks, I am running that at the moment, although it seems it's going to take quite some time.

Hey you're welcome! A long shot but similar enough type issues to be worth a try I guess. I'd expect it will take a while but I hope it fixes things. If not just keep posting!
