View Full Version : [xfce] Resolution Problem

I actually don't run Ubuntu - I run Debian testing.

The message prefix is Xfce, but this is also about Gnome and KDE.

The computer I run Debian on is a netbook (Asus EeePC 1000H) with an additional monitor attached. What I'm trying to do is have the netbook monitor turned of an have the external monitor turned on at a resolution of 1680x1050. I have issues in Gnome, Xfce, and KDE with trying to set this up. Any help on any of these problems would be appreciated.

The only real issue with Gnome is that it "forgets" that the built-in monitor should be turned off.

KDE forgets everything (unless it keeps the built-in monitor off; it's inside a desk cabinet, so I don't look at it a lot).

Whenever I use the Xfce tool for changing resolution, some font sizes get too big (e.g. OpenOffice.org Writer toolbar text and Emacs text). If I use xrandr, this problem doesn't occur.

Any ideas?
