I am a new ubuntu user and then still not accustomed with this OS. I installed ubuntu 64bit version 10.4 but can not be recognized by the scanner of my shots. I was advised to install the package iscan_2.25.0-1.ltdl7_amd64.deb from avasys.jp site (http://www.avasys.jp/lx-bin2/linux_e/spc/DL2.do) but appears
Error: The dependency can not be met: iscan-date

then I tried to install sound and well XSane immage scanner ubuntu server but nothing to do ... when I go on simple exchange I get the messagebox " There were no scanners .
What to do?

ok I solved
I installed the older version of the package and then the new one and resolved the problem of dependency.
