stuck at keyboard layout

I am attempting to install Ubuntu 10.04 Netbook Remix but every time I select my keyboard layout and press "next" the installation freezes. The computer notifies me of a crash report which says:
program "parted_server" closed unexpectedly

any advice? Thank you in advance.

are you getting an error code? like No. 141? natty Alpha had an installer bug that sounds suspiciously similar to what you guys are reporting,

I'd suggest shelving Maverick and going straight to natty Beta, (already proving to be one BA iteration) use the torrent download, after the first download you'll get the option to use the gz file, FAST

the ones I've being trying to install are 10.4 and 10.10,
should I try 11.4 instead ?
