View Full Version : [SOLVED] urgent install freezes 58%

hi,
im trying to install ubuntu on my brothers laptop but whenever i try it gets to 58% then stops for ages and then the installation box just disappears and nothing else happens, i ran a file check thing on the disk and it said there was 1 error.
any help would be brill, asap as well
my brother needs it back within the next 2 hours

1. Burn a new cd on low speed, at 4x.

2. If that also fails, download a new ISO image, best from torrent because it checks for corruption during download, and burn a cd at 4x.

It sounds like bad cd either from bad burn, or the ISO is corrupted during download.

i did burn it at the lowest speed possible, is there anyway i can check the iso file for corruption? i still have it on a my computer?

Also, am i ment to make it burnproof, under properties? because that is automatic clicked.

cheers Darko, the md5 sum is correct and the new burn of the iso came up with no errors so im hoping it will work this time:)
