I just installed (duel boot) Ubuntu via WUBI. It worked great, and I love it. However, the max partition I could make is 30gb.

Is there a way to use free space from my NTFS partition and assign it to Ubuntu?

I looked at the disk manager, and I'm just not familiar with it. Thanks!

You could take a look here and see if your question is answered:

https://wiki.ubuntu.com/WubiGuide

Just a gentle warning:

Wubi is not intended as a permanent type of installation for stable use. The idea is to give Windows users an opportunity to try Ubuntu in a fairly non-complicated way.

If you like Ubuntu, I suggest you consider a permanent install to the hard-drive and dual-boot with Windows.

We would be happy to walk you through this.

Thanks for the quick response. I think I will dual boot... I wish I didn't have to get back into Windows; but there are a handful of applications that I have to use that just aren't there for Linux.

What dual boot do you recommend? I know there are various options out there.

Thanks again!

My suggestion is that you first uninstall Wubi via Add/Remove Programs within Windows after saving any files, documents etc that are important.

Then run the Windows chkdsk utility a few times and boot into Windows to make sure everything is still normal.

After that you can use the following guides to install Ubuntu to the hard-drive:

Good luck and welcome!
