grub_getcharwidth error.
I have just, foolishly, attempted to upgrade from version 9 (not sure which one) to 10.04. All seemed to be going well, until the machine restarted, at which point the following error message occurred:
Error: the symbol 'grub_getcharwidth' not found
followed by the prompt
Grub rescue>
I have no idea what to do next. Any help would be welcome. If it helps my machine has two discs, which should mirror each other ---needless to say I did not set it up.
Is it likely that my files have been lost/damaged?
