After last firefox upgrade, from 3.0.19 to 3.6.6, java isn't working. I tried sun-java6-plugin even manually coping the contents to all /usr/lib/firefox related and stills not working. I tried icedtea-java7-plugin and it is activated by the browser but it shows nothing. I had to downgrade firefox and all related packages to get the environment working again.

Yes!! The solution comes with a sun-java6 update. After aplied firefox java plugin starts to work as before. In my case version 6.20dlj-0ubuntu1.8.04.1, but I saw that this version also exists on 9.10 as 6.20dlj-0ubuntu1.9.10.
