It's a funny thing. I'm upgrading from a perfect 9.1 to the 10.04 and everything is working OK. The next time I boot ... nothing but an empty desktop - with the proper background though. And [alt]-[F1] gives you the applications menu, [alt]-[F2] the execution window - and that's it. No menu. Now going through this sequence from [alt] - [F1] to [F12], the upper menu pops back up at [F6) when returning. [alt] - [F10] makes it the regulation size. I've got a fully functioning system though. Must have something to do with the nvidia driver I've got installed? What would be your guess?

Hi, how did you resolve it? I have the same problem. In this case I installed the latest version on an older pc and also don't have the menu. Alt F1 gives me the application menu and the system works.
Thanks for your help,
Vincent
