Printer not connected

Following upgrade from 8.04 to 10.04 my Hewlett-Packard LaserJet 1320
printer on a usb connection was recognized and working without a glitch.

After the installation of the last batch of upgrades (July,2,2010 ), this printer was found as "not connected".

I went to System/Administration/Printing, suppressed the printer
and added it again. Then, printing is working fine again.

You "suppressed" the printer? So you pressed down real hard on it with your hand?

What exactly do you mean? You deleted it?

FWIW, I have tried deleting then re-detecting my HP 1320 at least a dozen times with no luck.

Any other solutions out there?
