I have a Thinkpad laptop with a P2 and 366 MHz and 96 MB Ram. I'd like to have an Ubuntu flavor that will work sufficiently for simple games, play audio, surf the net, not more sophisticated than that. Usually it will be in the back of my car so I can do word processing if I have to.

Anybody know of a version that will install by itself and work as if it was 2002 or so?

I was pointed to DSL and Puppy Linux, but these were not sufficiently graphical to be really helpful and were grief to install.

Thanks.

The critical issue you've got is the lack of RAM. I would try to increase this first otherwise puppy linux is your best bet.

lubuntu will work at a pinch but you will still struggle.
