View Full Version : [ubuntu] Suspend\Hibernate problem in Lucid

Hi,

Suspend to RAM and Hibernate works well, except that the monitor stays blank after Resume. Rebooting is the only solution, which is obviously quite annoying. And pointless as that's the same then as doing a shutdown.

I had a similar problem on 9.04 and it was traced back to settings that I had to tweak in X.conf for my NVidia GeForce FX5500 graphics card. After that, all worked well. So I assume it's the graphics card making the trouble again.

Currently using the NVidia drivers - version 173.
My system is patched up to date - Kernel 2.6.32-23 on GNome 2.30.2

Any help would be much appreciated.

Regards

Jac-Ni

Same problems here, but I have Intel chip set on my laptop, so don't think it's video drivers.
I have been using Linux on laptops for almost ten years and have never been able to get suspend/hibernate working !!!!!!!
However and I hate to admit it woks just like it suppose to in Windows over the same period of time.
Why can't we get this right !!!!!!!!
