I'm new to ubuntu and heard aboud it from many different sites so I'm trying it and have installed wine as well. But i forgot that 3d is not supported by default and tried a 3d game using wine which I had to force to quit. But after i did that The resolution got all buggy and the system often has peculiar bugs like the panel disappearing and then reappearing again also the boot has gotten all blurry and many other bugs.
Any suggestions on what i can do??:-?

What make and model graphics adapter does your system have?

If you go to System > Hardware Drivers is there a proprietary driver for your video card? If so install the driver and 3D and resolution should be fine.

I tried to install the driver but the download goes half way and then stops...

Which driver?

You can also (once you know which driver) install using apt or synaptic
