friends,
perhaps you have some ideas or knowledge about this:
Is it possible in the US to get one's cellphone to make reliably and easily VOIP calls, perhaps using a wifi connection? (and for that wifi connection to be free or low cost, like $20/month for unlimited data)
And also to set up the phone to be on a very low cost - perhaps a pay as you go plan- just to keep one's phone number.
The way I see it there really is no good reason we should be paying as much as we are for cellphone and data plans. I lived abroad for a number of years and what we're paying here baffles me.
There must be some workarounds. I've been researching a bit online but haven't come across a simple solution.
