Hi everybody i wondered if anyone new why my western digital 120gb drive goes unreconised when on it`s own but if i put another drive on the same lead either as master or slave it is then reconised? If i boot into a boot disk for windows even though i have no c drive some of the utilities work the same and reconise it hd tune for instance.Would it have some thing to do with the size of the drive? Im using a fujitsu pentium 4 board. any ideas would be appreciated! cheers!

It seems WD disks have separate jumper position for:
- Master with Slave
- Master Only
- Slave

Depending how will you use it, set the jumper accordingly.

Cheers darkod for your reply and this thread can now be marked as solved.I did`nt realise until i saw it on another wd caviar that masters on there own are supposed to be jumperless so thats been my mistake all along. The drive is now working fine and i have added xp on it and am now selling it so if anyone wants a 120gb drive let me know cheers everyone!
