I am about to jump into UNIX world (for career). I would like to get trained by training centers somewhere, but I have very few options due to time and travel constraints.

I was wondering if you guys could suggest a proper, complete Solaris administrator book(and/or websites). Just for information, I am pretty comfortable with Ubuntu, and the terminal, and have had some experience with Red Hat.

Thank you for your suggestions!

Most of it should also work for (not-Open)Solaris.

Go for RHCE, Solaris is dying.

That, too. RHEL also has a free trial, 90 days I think.

Agreed, though it doesn't hurt to be framiliar with Solaris as well.

More importantly, it has unlimited trial: CentOS

;)

Off course it doesn't hurt to get familiar, but it could hurt pocket to pay Oracle university and bet your carrier on it.

Well, I don't have the Red Hat option. My job demands I learn Solaris. And anyway, I already know a bit about Red Hat Linux, and Solaris is another UNIX flavor, so I'm excited to learn it.

Bachstelze (http://ubuntuforums.org/member.php?u=51114)- thanks for the link. Lots of info there!
