Mine's rather basic, default theme and an Ubuntu wallpaper. I don't like changing things, it makes everything seem a bit sluggish.

Also, June for a bit longer

Very nice! The general colour scheme goes quite nicely.
What is the theme? And icons? Thanks

Also here is mine, similar to when i posted in last months thread but i have changed many small things, the most notable being the now lack of any window controls. Everything is mouse gestures now! Who needs buttons eh? The only thing I'm not entirely happy with is the window theme...

Edit: Also does anyone know how/if it is possible to make just the background of the file browser transparent? I'm pretty sure i've seen something like that somewhere before.

It's still a work in progress, but here's the latest version = http://www.mediafire.com/?mw2vnotfmde
I'm using the GIT pull of gtk-engines-murrine, btw. I don't use Ubuntu, but I think you should be fine if you're using 10.04 or later.

There's also a full pack (includes tint2rc, conkyrc and wallpaper) here = http://crunchbanglinux.org/forums/post/72528/#p72528 , but this archive contains older version of the GTK.

Cheers.

Thanks guys (and/or gals). Not much going on there. Something I threw together a few days ago. Just my attempt at a minimalist desktop...no panels and using Cairo Dock. And yea...the conky is nothing but your run-of-the-mill conky.

Ubuntu-mono-dark
tok-tok (http://gnome-look.org/content/show.php/Tok-tok?content=124598)
SimplyGrey (http://gnome-look.org/content/show.php/SimplyGrey?content=93674)
and some white folder icons i don't remember what they were called :) white leopard or something! I'm using some moblin icons for actions now:

I know this the screenshot thread, I found the new thick white borders around thumbnails in Lucid rather ugly. So I did some tweaking and got some good results.
Examples here
http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php?p=9541118&postcount=2

Maybe someone with better graphic design skills can improve it further. Hopefully get that as the default look for Maverick.

Mind uploading the wallpaper, or linking to it's original source?

I saw an article recently that's gotten me wanting to check other distros (mentioned & discussed on my blog (http://wp.me/p7lYn-L5)) and I'm leaning toward looking at KDE distros thanks to all the beautiful KDE shots I've seen here. I may need to post the spreadsheet I'm using to compare the different distros to let others take advantage of the research I'm doing.

@mmesantos1, if you install the development version of Docky, you can get rid of that mismatched Docky anchor icon. Remove Docky, add the ppa...

apt-get update
apt-get install dockyThen set gconf-editor accordingly (scroll down to "ShowDockyItem")...

You can still access Docky settings by right-clicking the seperator in Docky (just have that option enabled before you remove the anchor).

It looks like I may be heading to KDE so I'm putting together a list of the apps I use, particularly GNOME apps, to find KDE equivalents of. I was going to put it in my Google Docs but I just remembered that I can put it on Dropbox and let people see it. You can find it at http://db.tt/qLL9sX but please keep in mind that for the time being it's still a work in progress.

I love fiftyfootshadows. I take it you added the Dune quote yourself? That's what appeals to me so much.

It looks like I may be heading to KDE so I'm putting together a list of the apps I use, particularly GNOME apps, to find KDE equivalents of. I was going to put it in my Google Docs but I just remembered that I can put it on Dropbox and let people see it. You can find it at http://db.tt/qLL9sX but please keep in mind that for the time being it's still a work in progress.

taking a look now :D

The dune quote is actually the command "fortune wisdom -s" inside the fortune plasmoid, I took out the hideous chralkboard png, and replaced it with a trasparent png. If I click it I get a new wisdomy quote.

edit: I should add that if you want to gimp up something static the font I used was NeutraText size 36.

Edit 2: good list, sent you a pm.

^Sweet! I'm about to install the KDE desktop, etc., so I'll have to check out that Plasmoid. Not to mention all of the others. So much for my getting much done for the next few weeks, eh?

Would it be possible for, if you find more apps you that were looking for, to post an updated version of that spreadsheet? Some of these things I've never heard of, but look interesting and I would like to find some similar qt apps as well.

The version in my Dropbox will be updated anytime I make a change to the file. I doubt I'll be able to make any updates tomorrow but I'll definietly update the spreadsheet on Friday of not sooner. Feel free to check for updates every day or two.

Well he did ask for an opinion ;)

I don't believe this is a thread for your political views.

I see the sense of humour bypass operation was a roaring success :p

Been about the same since fresh install. Only change really has been to move the bottom menu bar to the top of the second screen. I stopped caring about playing with the OS and have been focused a lot more on real life.
