After what seemed to be a flawless upgrade from Ubuntu 64-bit 9.10 to 10.4, my system now fails to boot about 90% of the time. After Grub loads and I make my selection, the system displays:
Boot from (hd0,0) xfs
Starting up...
displays a blinking cursor, and stays that way no matter how long I leave it.
I can get a successful boot by selecting the recover option, selecting Resume Boot, logging in, and then starting x from the command line.
Has anyone else experienced this, and if so, have they solved the problem?
Thanks for any help available.
