View Full Version : [SOLVED] Windows flipped over

After automatic upgrade from Karmic Koala to Lucid Lynx I noticed all applications' window content become flipped over. Every element that normally was on the left side now is on the right and vice versa. It is the most notably seen on title bars where close/minimize/maximize buttons are now on the left side, no matter what a theme I chose.

Is it a new feature or a bug?

This is in fact a new feature :D

A feature. Only the title bar buttons are flipped, not whole content of the window.

Thank God this site exist [-o<, I almost get crazy with those buttons!

Now it is fixed, but I think they shouldn't put reversed buttons by default. It confuses people...

Glad you got the buttons back where you want them. Personally, I've got used to them on the left now.

The preferred method of changing the button location is by customising the theme, rather than changing them in gconf-editor. The reason for this is that changing them in gconf-editor is a global change that may affect how other themes work in the future.

To edit the theme, check the "May 5th Update" section of the following blog post:

http://uri.tl/5

Or look at this sticky elsewhere in the forums:

Every other OS I use has them on the right so they need to be on the right here as well.

Thanks for the fix!
