(mono) How to center a gnome container in a container

If I create a gnome table container and turn off autosize, expand homogenous etc. How can I display this container centered in another container with out looking stretched.

I managed to do this by creating a table and putting a empty label on either side set to fill horizontally.

Is this the bet way to do this? I am setting to solved as I can now center containers.
