Is there/would there be an addon for totem (Or any other player) that would allow someone to scale the video/audio on the fly? If a file has off-timing audio someone could fast forward to the end, quickly drag it over to the correct time, and watch the movie (No actual file changing, just reads the audio at a different pace)

Similarly, files that are supposed to be 16:9 but show up 4:3 could be scaled to the correct ratio...

Anything like this exist?

No idea, but VLC does everything so try there.

I don't think there's a totem plugin but VLC can set a delay on the audio track, so it'd be a case of lining it up in Milliseconds. Take a look at the VLC docs and they should explain how to do it.

And the 4:3 to 16:9 thing, just manually set the aspect ratio. It's somewhere up there in the menus.

@koleo: Nice, thats great :)
@Redache: Cool, but if each player only has one of the two functions... What happens when you get a really bad video?

VLC has all those functions, plus subtitle synching.
