I am looking for a distro that super stable on a intel atom processor that uses kernel 2.6.32 or above so that my wireless driver is included by default. wireless didn't work in netbook remix and my netbook was super unstable

You could give mepis a try.

http://www.mepis.org/

I've used the 8.0, and it was fast and light.

Take a look at Peppermint (http://peppermintos.com/), it might be what you're looking for.

I would suggest Debian Testing with anything or Sidux for KDE. Though if you have nothing against Ubuntu, try lucid NBR and install the wireless backports package.

I've got an Asus 1000HA, virtually the same thing, and Lucid Lynx desktop and Mint 8 worked great.

Mepis didn't care for kde. going to try sidux xcfe, dream linux xcfe, and fedora gnome in the morning to see if i like any of them. i used ubuntu on this machine before but it would always overheat and crash so i'm avoiding it now

Then after all of this trying you will realize they all use the same kernel and userspace.. ;) I will see you in the morning.

i'm determined to get rid of windows on this netbook. i will find a distro that at least works acceptably on this hardware. one way or another i will get it working. good thing i don't have to work until wednesday

My advice is to lock down on one distro for a few hours, and find out what is wrong and why it is wrong. Because a problem in 2.6.32 is likely to occur in every distro that uses it (for example). Then you can look up that particular issue for workarounds. Once you know what the issue is or how to fix it, you can focus on which distribution fits your focus. What release schedule works for you is likely the most important thing. Also, post a topic about the exact issue, such as over heating etc.
