I'm going to be building a new PC soon and installing Ubuntu 64bit.
I wish to max out my case and use 6 hard drives (SATA) as follows.
2 x 320GB In RAID 0 For OS / apps / virtual machines
4 x 1TB In RAID 5 for documents and media
With my experience with using RAID i would set up the two arrays in the config after the BIOS post.
Will ubuntu recognise the arrays and let me install to and boot from the RAID 0 array?
What are the possibilities with software RAID?
Any ideas with this?
