Okay, I installed the latest Ubuntu (10.04) and it installs just fine and everything works perfect. I wiped the system when I did this and installed just this OS.

In the past I had no problems reinstalling a version of Windows if I needed it for school or something.

However, this time, when I go to install ANY version of Windows, bootlegged or legit it will not get passed the "Expanding Windows" section. It just sits there at zero seemingly spinning and trying to do something. I have left it overnight and it's still at 0% in the morning.

I have tried wiping ubuntu off, deleting all partitions, and reformatting them many times. Tried booting off of usb, iso's, store bought versions of xp.

Any help?

If you still have the Ubuntu LiveCD you could also try this:

http://bootinfoscript.sourceforge.net/

The results might help determine what is causing the problem.
