Hi,
I've recently switched completely from Windows and am running Lucid now.
For about a week or so, I installed Kubuntu and gave KDE a run.
It's a lot more flashy, that's for sure. But I don't know. Maybe I've just grown used to GNOME. I'm just more comfortable.

But one thing I really miss is that little launch bar in KDE. I binded (or is it "bound"?) my right Windows key to it and that way I could launch any app without making a single mouse click. I could even open the home directory.

Is there something similar for GNOME? I know there's Docky which I have installed. I read that it's based on "Do", but I don't know exactly what "Do" is.

So, any advice is highly welcome.

Not sure exactly what you're asking for, as I'm not familiar with KDE, but I know you can launch the "Application Launcher" by hitting Alt+F2.

Try gnome-do.
It's an application launcher and dock.
I run docky as my dock and gnome-do not in dock mode, just as an application finder and laucher, as I find it crashes too much in dock mode.

Thanks guys! gnome-do seems to be sort of what I'm looking for. I'm using Docky as well by the way. Really good tool.
