Hello,

I have a strange bug...
After working for a while I will loose the ability to change the active window. If I try to click in another window, it wont change focus and the click has no effect. Also, I cant Alt+Tab (Super+Tab) to different windows.

The active window when this happens will work fine, I've had different application be the active window when it happens.

If I perceiver and keep clicking in other windows eventually it might change focus, then I'll be locked to the new window >_<

If I restart GDM (switch to console, call sudo /etc/init.d/gdm restart) it will be fixed when I come back - but tends to break quicker.

If I plug in a new mouse once its happened, it doesn't fix it.

I had this problem on my old PC (Ubuntu 9.10) and now my new one (10.4).

Any ideas what I can try?

As is often the way with writing a forum post and trying to cover all the points, a new thought comes to mind :)

The common thing between both PCs is the mouse; which I'd previously dismissed because when 'it happens' the keyboard is affected as well.

I'll try using my spare (crap) mouse before it happens and see if that stops it...
