Different environments on different accounts for the same installation and distro on the same computer? How to do this?

This depends somewhat on the specific settings/environment, but suppose you want to have Gnome and KDE together for userG and userK.

1. Install Ubuntu.
2. From synaptic, install kubuntu-desktop (now on login every user can select KDE or Gnome).
3. Create users (userG and userK)
4. Login as userG selecting Gnome, then logout.
5. Login as userK selecting KDE, then logout.

Now you have the two users with the corresponding environments setup as default.

I am thinking Gnome on one and E17 on the other. E16 is also acceptable.

Ideally I would like Enlightened Gnome as my desktop, but I dont know if there is an easy way to attain that and I am by no means a linux guru or even an adept. There is that GEOS operating system by that Italian guy who wrote app fu which seems cool, but I dont know how to create it as a desktop on Ubuntu or Mint.

Can it be done?
