2100: Isner smiles and applauds his opponent after Mahut dives headlong for a ball he was never going to get at 0-15. The American hits his 98th ace to make it 59-58.

That was insane! I started watching it at about 19:00 BST, and though "mmm, long 5th set! Maybe I'll get some action before the football". I think they were at about 40 40 when I got there. Half an hour later, I just sent Germany vs Ghana to walk the dog.

The amazing thing is that, even though from about 55 all John Isner started decreasing his serving performance, until then it was sublime. Serving so well after 4 hours... of the 5th set... just awesome. Even more, it's not like many unforced errors were commited, but the sheer amount of winners was also top class. Unfortunately, I think Mahu lacked a bit of grunt in order to defeat a completely exhausted Isner.

And I thought the Federer versus Roddick game was long when I watched it last year. 10 hours is ridiculous.
