I had a targus USB hub, and I wanted to test if it worked. It didn't, after I figured this out I was disappointed. I had plugged my 2 USB flash drives into it. 1 was a 32gb flash drive, another was an average 2gb. I noticed the small one had it's plastic casing melted. I frantically pulled both of them out, it was too late, both my USB devices seem to be fried, there is no response from either. I freed both from their casing, and they still don't work. How can I save my devices?

You can save future devices by not using that hub again. There's probably not much you can do for the ones that are already fried. Maybe someone with electronics expertise could identify damaged components and if they can be replaced. But don't get your hopes up.

Don't the designers think of problems like this? I can't see any visible damage to the devices themselves, I think it may be the connector, hopefully.

Anyone know where I can buy a male USB connector?
