Printers?!!!

Linux has sold me the idea of using Ubuntu at work as a server and workstation. I can't install any of the printers in my office, they're not on the list and they don't have PPD files.

Why would I use Ubuntu if I can't get printers installed?

Ubuntu supports quite a lot of printers out of the box. For some others you need to install PPD files or drivers first, and some just don't work.

Have look at the OpenPrinting database (http://www.linuxfoundation.org/collaborate/workgroups/openprinting/database/databaseintro) to see if your printers are supported or tell us what printers you have so we may be able to help you.

What printers do you have ?? About the only thing Ubuntu doesn't support is the cheap "win-printers" you buy at wally world and places like that.
