The short story is that I broke my wireless on my computer and can't fix it. Now I'm trying to upgrade by CD from karmic to the current 10.04 ubuntu (lucid) and see if that will fix it.
I downloaded the latest 10.04 iso image and now have an install cd. When I reboot the computer that needs to be fixed, it boots from cd and does all the information questions and such.
The problem is that it can NOT find any users to import. Now I don't want to lose all my pictures and music. Is there a way to save the home folder or force it to recognize the previous user?
Or maybe there's a way to upgrade using a live cd after booting up? Any ideas?
