When 10.04 was officially released, I immediately tried to upgrade a dell desktop from 9.10 with integrated intel graphics and I was having the issue where a blank screen would appear after startup. Researching, I found i was not the only one with the issue so i decided to put 9.10 back on.
Main question is, if I upgrade from 9.10 now will it include any updates that Canonical released to address this issue? or will it just be the same as upgrading when 10.04 was first released?
A couple threads I found on the issue are below but I am still afraid to try anything since intel integrated gpu is known to have many issues and I've spent many hrs when I first tried to upgrade. I love Ubuntu and have "Spread the Ubuntu Love" to everyone I know even though I've had these issues and they are impressed as well!

As you can tell by my post count, I am a bit of a new user when it comes to advanced ubuntu things but ANY help is appreciated. I have the next couple days off from work and am willing to put the work in to get 10.04 on the pc as well if anyone is willing to help?
