Hi guys and gals. Just wanted to share the stellar fathers card I woke up to this morning. I am a respectable trek fan. Watch at least one episode of some sort of Trek every night. My wife must have spent some time hunting for this one. It plays TOS theme song when you open it. I know any other Trek loving dads woulda loved to have received this one.

Happy Fathers day to you all

I just wanted to add what my son ( 10yrs old ) gave me this year for fathers day

now being that I am a redneck, I wear ball caps all the time. I also happen to be Jeff Gordon fan. ( I know he is gay, I hear it all the time, so feel free to tell me )
ok back to what I was getting at, my current JG hat is a few years old, faded and not to mention it smells from time to time, between washes.

My son gave me a new Jeff Gordon hat, and an Aloe Vera plant. ( I happen to like plants of all types, except the poison ivy, oak, sumac types).

I know this day is for fathers, but to me, it should be called child's day, because without my child, i would not be a father, and without my son, I would not be happy.
ok time to turn off the sappy comments.

We have days that celebrate being a mother, or a father, but shouldn't there be a day celebrating the children? after all, Children are the reason for, well to me everything. maybe its just me, but my child is #1.

To all the fathers out there, have a great day, I know I will.

I made my dad a program. It writes out ASCII art that says "HAPPY FATHER'S DAY
Love,
<INSERT NAME HERE>"

It types it out. He liked it.

By the way, is this a recent cultural change that Father's Day (not Fathers' Day) has become a celebration of everyone who is a dad, rather than appreciating your own father for the day? Is this just starting to happen or have people always wished all fathers a happy Father's Day?

I'm not saying it's a bad thing, just struck me as weird when I first saw someone on my Facebook feed wishing all fathers a Happy Father's Day.

It's not mutually exclusive.
