lcd monitor question

I'm thinking of getting a 19" lcd. Should I get a regular one or widescreen? Are there any advantages or disadvantages to either one?

I have a widescreen, and I like it because I can have multiple windows open and not have to do alot of switching back and forth between windows. Kinda like dual monitors. This is while running XP, but while running Linux I use the desktop switches so it really doesn't matter to me then because I can run different kinds of programs on different desktops. A web site builder friend I've talked to says that he likes widescreen because he can have his browser open to the page that he is building all of the time right next to his building program and just hit refresh on the browser when he saves changes. Widescreen movies are also nice without the black borders at the top and bottom. Thats my opinion.
