I'm trying to install Ubuntu on a machine with an nvidia graphics card running DVI. The only way I could resolve the "screen blanks after splash screen" issue (that can be found all around these forums) for the installer was to hit F6 and select nomodeset, as found in other threads.
However, after doing this and selecting "Try Ubuntu without installing anything", it takes me to a command line interface, not the desktop.
Any help? How can I view the desktop to try it out and install it? Should I be doing something besides just selecting nomodeset?
