The current name of this distro is wakarimashita. It's too long for most people. The distro aims to provide a stable distro suitable for the average geek. Build from scratch (linux from scratch that is), and uses dpkg for it's main package manager (with debian stable repo). No longer based on gentoo.

Where does wakarimashita come from? (just curious)

Beside that, I like the name, although I'll probably have to practice before I can use it's name without any failures :P

(Benri="convenient", right?)

I took a year of Japanese back in college in the early 90's - that's a line from a dialog I memorized.

I'm assuming you're looking for a Japanese name for it. And yes, "day break" or "new dawn" as some may think of it.

Ooops, I mistranslated that. I thought it meant "struggle makes perfect".

On a more serious note: instead if developing your own distro, why not just contribute to an existing distro or open source project?

The world has enough distros. :)

Here's a list of Japanese distros, for example:

http://distrowatch.com/search.php?category=All&origin=Japan&basedon=All&desktop=All&architecture=All&status=Active

I'm sure one or more of them could use your help.
