Now you CL addicts have even less reason to use innovations from the past 30 years.

What a great idea. At least for us CLI users.

But you still need to link your Google account to GoogleCL using a browser and I don't think it works in lynx and other cli browsers.

I like that you can upload files to Google Docs using it... time to make myself a script :D

CLI is pretty much the only feasible way to automate things efficiently. Thats why some folks love it!

For example
add this first line in the examples to crontab

$ google picasa create --title "My album" ~/Photos/vacation/*.jpg

You automagically have a backup of any .jpg you put in your Photos/vacation directory. You can have it run as often or as little as you like.

This isn't just great for CLI users, but for script writers and users, too.

For example, now you can incorporate Google stuff into conky displays.

Now THAT is an awesome idea. I likey, I likey a LOT. Cheers!

Hopefully they will add support for Google Apps accounts (user@domain.hosted.by.google) pretty soon too.

Ah, but can these commands and libraries by integrated into desktop programs?

It would be great to upload photos from Gwenview or DigiKam straight to Picasa, and it'd be amazing to upload YouTube videos right from KDenlive. Or better yet, Dolphin.

There's a lot of potential here for some epic web integration.

Best way to upload to picasaweb

google picasa create --title "China" ~/Photos/China/*.jpg

And it's fast, just wish that picasaweb would allow subfolders
