I have recently loaded Ubuntu 10.4. So now I have a dual boot Windows XP and Ubuntu.

The GRUB menu (is that what you call it) is different than what I had under openSUSE. How do I edit this menu so that Windows becomes the default system. I would also like to eliminate the previous reference to the older versions of the kernel.

openSUSE had an editor for this sort of thing. I can't find one in Ubuntu. Is there on in a repository somewhere?

you can install startup-manager and set the default OS from there.

from:

System > Administration > Synaptic Package Manager
