These are ~$3000 US new last I checked. Used for field and military applications. A very good price if you are wanting to play with a touchscreen notebook and O/S experiments.

My brother-in-law was supplied one by his employer, he is a bridge inspector for the provincial government. He packs it with him almost everywhere he goes. He once used the built-in web cam to make a video of the underside of a bridge out in the middle of nowhere. His has an internal G3 modem plus wifi, he had the option of a sat phone modem too, but they don't work very well out here. The area he was in was just a few kilometers from where I took the picture I linked to.

We use CF-29 and they're rock solid. I've knocked one of the top of a aircraft and it survived. Mind you, someone I know lost his temper and threw a blade pin (they're quite heavy) at the screen - it didn't survive that.
The ones we use on aircraft use Windows 2000 and run reasonably fast but they're very stripped down. There are CF-28 around that we use for aircraft paperwork and they run Redhat - they're perfectly usable although the trackpads are terrible.
