View Full Version : [ubuntu] Trying other desktop environments

I use 10.4 and have always used gnome as my main desktop environment. However, if I, via the Software Center, install, for instance, the Kubuntu desktop just to try out, is it equally simple to uninstall? Or does it leave a lot of "rubbish" behind that I don't really need (using gnome)?

Curious but also scared to 'upset' my system:-?

You can remove the lot, but I would try kde-minimal before the full kde-desktop.

Same with Xubuntu, try xfce4 first instead.

That way you can remove the desktop environments easily, without worrying about everything else.
