I am just curious about the Kweather package. I like having a weather display applet in my KDE panel, and used Kweather back in the KDE3 days.

Since the availability of KDE4, Kweather has continued all along to be in the repositories. With each new KDE SC version, there seems to be a new version of Kweather. However, from what I have been able to determine, it is completely unusable. This leads me to wonder why new versions continue to become available. Have I missed something?

If Kweather cannot be used, would anyone know of an applet/plasma widget that works well in the KDE panel?

Hi,
I have been trying out a nice one that is very customizable:
It is called Customizable Weather Plasmoid (CWP)
Here is the link. (http://kde-look.org/content/show.php/Customizable+Weather+Plasmoid+%28CWP%29?content=98 925)

I noticed only one problem with it though. There is a delay in loading the weather data each time the weather is checked. That might only happen on my computer with my internet connection though. Otherwise I think it is a great weather plasmoid.

ankspo71,

Many thanks for the suggestion!!

CWP seems to work really well in the panel.

I would still be curious why kweather is still in the repos, but oh well...
