Has anyone noticed the install for binutils-gold yielding any negative/undesired results?
During the install, it made mention of some applications not functioning properly, however the only one on the list I'm familiar with is wine. I installed it over ssh, since i'm at work i haven't had the time to check on wine, but I've tried searching everywhere and the only issues I've seen people complaining about are when compiling from source.
It's supposedly much quicker than the basic ld (it's an improved linker... supposedly improves the speed of chromium by 4x... when compiling from source, i'm not sure if it has the same results on the precompiled deb. No issues reported when i compiled chromium after the install, ^_^)... Well, good thing is that it doesn't overwrite the current ld, just renames it and takes it's place.
My apologies if this is posted in the wrong category, I wasn't sure if this was considered an upgrade/installation question.
