View Full Version : [ubuntu] Can I get Ubuntu to run off of my onboard Intel GMA video card, rather than my 360M?

Hi all,

I've been a casual user of Ubuntu for a while now on my desktop, and it's about time I bought a new laptop. However, is it possible to get Ubuntu to use the onboard Intel GMA graphics chipset on an i7 processor rather than the peripheral card? I'm looking to get better battery life out of this computer by booting it into Ubuntu, but I think the most dramatic increase will be by using the Intel GMA chip instead of the peripheral one. Possible?

Thanks!

Rich
