This is where you should start, and arch has many well documented wiki pages easily found on Google
arch beginners guide (http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Beginners%27_Guide)

The above link post #2 is a good one as well

People like to make Arch sound more complicated than it really is. :) All you need to do is follow this guide (http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Beginners%27_Guide) word-by-word and you will be OK.

Now let me ask you a couple of questions: Why are you interested in Arch? What do you hope to accomplish by switching to it?

I want to use Arch Because i like the philosophy of it. I also Like having a RAW system to start with. It Teaches you more of the Operating system. So you know what to do. I Guess it will just add more tools to my Tool Box i guess you can say. I'll still use Ubuntu of Course, but i would like to know another OS Distro

There is no reason to use Ubuntu Linux if you use Arch Linux. If you like it, you should switch entirely.

Not really. Arch is my playground for testing and learning.

Ubuntu is the main desktop

You can use Arch Linux for both.

I haven't used Ubuntu for years, (Mint-Xfce briefly on No.2 box). I have used Arch for well over 2 years as my prime system on my iMac. Using OS X, is comparatively repulsive (to me, it is just personal taste, no offence meant to the OS X, lovers ;))

My No.2 box has been back on Arch again for sometime. The only thing I can see that will possibly displace Arch on my No.2 box at least, is Haiku. Haiku has yet to be developed to a point where it has the chance to prove itself in day to day use for me.

To the OP, use what you like; you only know what you like if you try as many options as you can, you could try Arch & find it just doesn't suit you at all. Fine, move on to the next possibility. :)

why make a final decision? bounce back and forth as you feel like it.

i used arch for a year or so, then moved back to 10.04 when it was time to start college.

maybe ill toss arch on my netbook at some point, maybe not. once you are at home on both ubuntu and arch, i'd imagine you can find yourself at home in any distro.

iirc, lots of rpm-based distros even have synaptic.
