I love computer software and such, and am always looking for new things.
Found Ubuntu and realized I had to have it.
So I ordered the disk, and tried installing it using Wubi and well, it installed. All 11Gbs was used up, and in the Add/Remove Programs section, but there was no option to load that OS in the F8 menu when booting Windows. The only OS was WinXP Home Edition.
Thikning there may have been a problem with the disk, I torrented the Ubuntu iso, and extracted it. (I'm not a fan of mounting.)
Did the same thing as above - even it not being the in OS menu.

What's going on?

Specs:
WinXP Home Edition x32
Ubuntu 9.10

F8 menu? You hit F8 while booting windows for advanced options like starting in safe mode, etc. You shouldn't need to hit F8 to get the windows bootloader offering choice for windows and wubi.

On another note, it is far better to install ubuntu as full dual boot OS, on its own partition and its own filesystem, instead of installing wubi inside windows.

F8 also lets you go to Select OS screen.

Alright. I'll work on partitioning my disk and then do it that way.
