I am trying to install speech to text software on my computer.
See this website to get an idea of what I am trying to do:
http://www.brighthub.com/computing/linux/articles/55794.aspx

How do I install Sphinx in order to get free voice recognition software.
It's downloadable from here: http://cmusphinx.sourceforge.net/wiki/download/

I think I installed festival and perlbox but I can't seem to install Sphinx. It gives me an error when I enter "make" in the terminal.

Here's the last part of the error message:
make[2]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
make[2]: Leaving directory `/home/ki2/Downloads/sphinx3-0.8/src/libs3decoder'
make[1]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/ki2/Downloads/sphinx3-0.8/src'
make: *** [all-recursive] Error 1

Please help. Thanks.

It turned out that I did install sphinx correctly, I would think. I installed sphinx-2.bin from synaptic.

I did everything right, but I needed to do some more additional stuff to fix the inadequacies of default ubuntu with doesn't have cpan preinstalled, I would think.

There's a website that addresses this problem very well. It's:
http://www.linuxzone.es/howtos-manuales/how-toinstalar-y-configurar-perlbox-voice/

The problem with this website, is that it's in Spanish. I used google translate to translate much of it, but I should use FoxLingo mozilla addon instead to translate the whole webpage all at once.
