I'm on my iPod after a total failure on installing ubuntu. No worries, I can still enter the graphic install.
The installation went well to the actual installation. When I get 5% and the ext4 begins to launch, the install stops and the window fails. I can still see the background, but the progress has stoped. My computer is decleared OS-less now. This is writen on a iPod.

Ubuntu OS: 10.04
Previouse OS: Windows Vista Home Premium SP 2

I got plenty with RAM and Disk Space.
Making my computer accessable within 48 hours would be perfect. All advice is accepted.
Thank you!

Boot into a LiveCD, and prepare the HDD with GParted (for a tutorial, see https://help.ubuntu.com/community/HowtoPartition). If there are any errors while partitioning/formatting, save them and copy them here.

Ok.. I will try.
By the way; I'm using a disc ordered for free, from the official system.
Either, I get no errors, the install window & progress just stops, quits.. No errors at all..

That didn't work. Anything Else?

What do you mean it quits? If you mean it just sits there with no visible progress, then just continue to wait... if you have a very large disk it can take quite a while to format... took me 20 minutes to format my 1.5 tb drive.

No, the window is closed and there is no action from CD-Rom or PC.
